While a boudoir session is meant to be liberating, empowering, and fun, I fully understand that it can also be a source of anxiety and stress for some women. The stress associated with a boudoir photography session is rooted in fear. Fear that you won't be prepared, fear that you won't look as good as the other women, fear that you aren't worthy of this experience. I get it. Really, I do.
That's why I always try to make my Boudie Babes know that I am here to answer any and all of their questions about the sessions. I send detailed emails and questionnaires. I set up a phone call to go over questions and explain the process. I don't want any of your boudoir session to be a surprise. I want you to feel prepared and ready to slayyy.
Nicole was nervous. She wanted to speak with me a few times to walk through the process and ask me questions. I actually love when women take the initiative to set up phone calls and meetings when they feel uneasy. It can be so reassuring to hear the game plan for the big day.
We talked about what to bring, how long it takes, how I edit photos... And we became instant friends. Nicole is amazing. She's so down to earth, open and honest. She wanted to do a boudoir session with me to give herself a confidence boost but she had reservations. I reminded her of why she wanted to do this in the first place.
The day of, she totally blew me away. I was expecting someone who was super shy and closed off. She was anything but. When we went through her images, I could see her lighting up. Her photographs turned out beautifully and she had multiple favorites. I'm obsessed with that close up with her blue eyes and that gorgeous silhouette.
And the best compliment of all? She said she wanted to do it all again.
I'm not sure if I've told you guys lately but my job freakin' rocks. This is more than just taking sexy pictures. This is an experience that forces you to see yourself in a way you're not used to. It forces you to step outside of your comfort zone and see how beautiful you truly are, inside and out. What on earth could be more gratifying and empowering?
